The mobility equipment company based in the Midlands that are about to explode onto our screens early next year is none other than Central Mobility. Predominantly stairlift specialists, they also supply a full range of mobility and rehabilitation equipment – including mobility scooters!
They were contacted recently by the BBC who are currently looking to film an informative program based around the popular motorised chariots which are a firm favourite with the elderly and the disabled.
As it happened, Central Mobility were already eyeing up a tired looking scooter and joking about the possibility of ‘pimping’ it up? Next door to units F & G Armston Business Farm Park on Broughton Road in Cosby Leicestershire, is AVS, a vehicle repair specialist who had the necessary tools to help Central Mobility put something fun together.
So far, the Shoprider mobility scooter has had a chassis chop & lengthening, a custom trans-axle and new 50cc moped engine transplanted into it and a wheel upgrade – it now has twin wheel drive on both rear corners for extra GRIP!
The scooter will feature in the opening sequence with the presenter of the show sitting on it and introducing the program.
Good luck guys!!
